RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), together with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Chief of Air Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and the entire Armed Forces of Pakistan, paid rich tribute on Friday to Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, marking his 26th martyrdom anniversary.
In a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Armed Forces hailed Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s heroism during the 1999 Kargil conflict, describing him as a true symbol of courage and patriotism who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending Pakistan’s sovereignty.
“His fearless leadership and gallantry under extreme circumstances reflect the finest traditions of the Pakistan Army,” the statement read. Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s unwavering commitment and bravery continue to inspire generations, both within the Armed Forces and among the Pakistani people.
His martyrdom represents the ultimate spirit of selfless devotion and loyalty to the nation, serving as a guiding light for all.
“We salute our hero and reaffirm our resolve to safeguard the homeland against every threat,” the ISPR statement added.
On this solemn occasion, the Armed Forces renewed their pledge to uphold the values of loyalty, courage, and honor that Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed so powerfully represented.
