Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has announced the formation of an international coalition aimed at establishing a Palestinian state and implementing a two-state solution. He stated that the first meeting of this coalition will take place in Riyadh.
During a ministerial meeting in New York on Friday, Prince Faisal noted that this coalition is the result of collaborative efforts between European and Arab nations. The session was titled “The Situation in Gaza and the Two-State Solution for Comprehensive and Just Peace.”
He further emphasized, “We will develop a practical plan to achieve our shared goals and ensure the desired peace… We will make every possible effort to ensure a credible path, without deviating from comprehensive and just peace.”
The Saudi Foreign Minister stressed the need for collective action to implement significant and impactful measures.
According to Prince Faisal, the war in Gaza has resulted in a humanitarian crisis, and the Israeli occupying forces are committing severe violations in the West Bank. He stated that these forces are continuing their policies of aggression and violence against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and sacred sites of both Muslims and Christians.
He remarked, “Defending oneself does not justify the killing of millions of civilians, the systematic spread of destruction, or using hunger as a weapon of war.”
Last week, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reiterated that his country will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel before the creation of a Palestinian state. He underscored that the Palestinian issue remains a top priority for Saudi Arabia and condemned Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
Crown Prince Mohammed also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to working towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem, encouraging other nations to follow suit in recognizing such a state.
