Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has announced a decisive call for a large-scale protest in the federal capital on November 24, aimed at pressing the government to meet the party’s demands.
In a statement given by his lawyer Faisal Chaudhry outside Adiala Jail, Khan confirmed that a committee has been formed to organize the protest, though he refrained from revealing the members’ names, citing security concerns. *“I won’t disclose the names because they risk being arrested,”* Khan reportedly said.
The former prime minister underscored that Islamabad would be the epicenter of the protest, which he anticipates will gain traction not only across Pakistan but also among the Pakistani diaspora worldwide. *“The protest will continue until our demands are met,”* Khan asserted, emphasizing the movement’s indefinite nature.
Chaudhry conveyed Khan’s core demands, including the repeal of the 26th Constitutional Amendment and the reinstatement of PTI’s mandate. He also called for the release of all individuals detained without due process.
According to Chaudhry, PTI’s leadership will be actively involved, with each member aware of their role in the campaign. The authority to end the protest will lie with the committee overseeing the movement.
Imran Khan has also directed senior PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur to lead a convoy from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to bolster support.
Separately, Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister, endorsed her brother’s final call, urging every PTI member and supporter to participate in the protest, emphasizing the need for a strong, united front across Pakistan.
