
Dutch Envoy Meets Pakistani Finance Minister to Bolster Bilateral Relations

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Pakistan met with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, to discuss ways to strengthen the bilateral relationship and explore opportunities for increased collaboration between the two countries.
A statement from the finance ministry highlighted that the two leaders discussed a range of topics, including the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and the Netherlands, and identified key sectors for future cooperation. These sectors included mining, information technology, oil and gas, agriculture, dairy, and farm production.
Minister Aurangzeb shared Pakistan’s economic reform agenda, emphasizing the government’s commitment to driving growth and achieving fiscal stability. He highlighted the progress made over the past year and reaffirmed the government’s focus on sustaining an export-led economy.
The minister also touched on Pakistan’s climate challenges, discussing the country’s efforts to secure climate financing and build resilience through sustainable solutions.
Ambassador de Vries expressed her country’s desire to further strengthen bilateral ties, including in the sports sector. She noted that the Dutch cricket team would be visiting Pakistan early next year to play matches and gain insights from Pakistan’s cricketing expertise. She also praised Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms and assured the Netherlands’ support for enhancing trade relations between Pakistan and the European Union.
