Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, has issued a strong warning that any individual or entity attempting to obstruct the country’s security efforts will face severe repercussions. His remarks came during a high-level meeting of the Apex Committee chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.
In his address, General Munir emphasized that the fight against terrorism is a collective responsibility, stating, “Anyone who hinders Pakistan’s security efforts and tries to prevent us from fulfilling our duty will have to bear the consequences.” He made it clear that every Pakistani, whether in uniform or not, plays a crucial role in this battle.
He further reinforced the importance of adhering to Pakistan’s Constitution, which mandates the protection of the nation’s internal and external security. “We must unite as a nation to fight terrorism. The Constitution of Pakistan places the responsibility of security squarely on our shoulders,” General Munir remarked.
The Army Chief also acknowledged the daily sacrifices made by the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, who continue to protect the nation despite challenges in governance. “Our forces are making immense sacrifices to safeguard the nation’s security,” he said, reiterating the military’s resolve to combat terrorism and ensure the safety of the public.
General Munir’s statement underlines the army’s unyielding commitment to addressing the security challenges facing Pakistan and highlights the crucial role of unity in the fight against terrorism.
