Samir Ahmed Appointed as Tournament Director for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the appointment of Samir Ahmed Syed, the Board’s Chief Operating Officer, as the Tournament Director for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which is set to take place in Pakistan.

In a statement, PCB emphasized Samir Ahmed’s impressive organizational abilities and his unwavering passion for cricket. The Board expressed full confidence in his leadership, believing that he will successfully oversee an unforgettable tournament for players, officials, and fans.
Reflecting on the responsibility, Samir Ahmed stated, “It is an honor to be entrusted with this role for such a significant event. The upgrades to the stadiums are nearly complete, and discussions with the ICC are progressing well.”
Samir Ahmed also referenced his prior experience in successfully managing large-scale events, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and expressed optimism about the plans in place for the Champions Trophy.
