Anti-terrorism court has formally indicted PTI founder Imran Khan and over 100 co-accused in connection with the GHQ attack case. Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the hearing, where the charges were read out.
Among those indicted were prominent political figures, including Sheikh Rashid, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Umar Ayub, Fawad Chaudhry, Zartaj Gul, and Raja Basharat. All accused pleaded not guilty.
The case, related to the May 9 attacks, has been registered at RA Bazaar police station. Out of 143 individuals named in the case, 23 have been declared absconders by the court.
The proceedings were adjourned to December 10, with the court directing legal teams to prepare for the next stage.
Security forces detained several PTI leaders, including Umar Ayub, Malik Ahmad Chatha, and Raja Basharat, outside Adiala Jail following the hearing. Umar Ayub was transported to a nearby facility, further intensifying political tensions.
