China has imposed sanctions on several U.S. military companies and their executives following a $385 million deal to sell F-16 fighter jet and radar system parts to Taiwan.
According to international news agencies, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson condemned the U.S. for crossing a “red line” by arming Taiwan, a region China claims as its own.
The sanctions affect numerous U.S. companies involved in the deal, including Teledyne Brown Engineering, Brink Drones, Shield AI, and others. In addition, the six CEOs of these companies have had their assets frozen, and they are banned from entering China.
Furthermore, China has instructed its businesses and citizens to avoid any dealings with these companies and individuals, escalating tensions between the two nations. This move signals China’s growing opposition to foreign interference in its sovereignty over Taiwan.
