Syria has called on Israel to withdraw its forces from occupied territories, urging an end to what it describes as Israeli aggression. According to Russian media reports, Syria’s representative to the United Nations, Qusai Al-Dhahhak, emphasized the need for immediate action to halt Israeli hostilities and restore Syrian sovereignty.
“We must put an end to Israeli aggression against Syria, and their forces, which have intruded into our territories, must leave immediately,” Al-Dhahhak stated.
Global media reports highlight Syria’s appeal for Israel to adhere to UN Security Council resolutions and abide by the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement of Forces. This agreement specifies that only UN peacekeeping forces may operate in the buffer zone on the Golan Heights.
Syria’s demand comes amid escalating tensions in the region, with the international community seeking viable solutions to the long-standing conflict between Israel and Syria.
