Israel Challenges Arrest Warrant for Netanyahu at International Criminal Court

Israel has formally contested the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

The warrants, announced on November 21, accuse the two leaders of war crimes and crimes against humanity linked to military operations in Gaza. Israeli officials confirmed their appeal, with military radio revealing details of the government’s objection to the ICC’s decision.

If upheld, the warrants could severely limit international travel for Netanyahu and Gallant, effectively barring them from visiting 124 ICC member states, including EU nations, Japan, Canada, Australia, and parts of Africa and the Americas.

This development intensifies legal and diplomatic pressures on Israel, raising concerns about future international relations and accountability for actions in Gaza.
