South Waziristan: Check Post Attack Foiled, 16 Soldiers Martyred, 8 Terrorists Killed

An attempted attack by militants on a check post in South Waziristan was successfully thwarted by security forces, resulting in the martyrdom of 16 brave soldiers and the elimination of 8 terrorists.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a clearance operation against potential terrorists in the area is underway. The military spokesperson assured that those responsible for this heinous act will be brought to justice.

The spokesperson stated that during an intense exchange of fire, the soldiers courageously defended their post, inflicting heavy losses on the attackers, with 8 militants killed on the spot.

Details of the Martyred Soldiers

The ISPR shared the following details about the martyrs:

  • Lance Naik Liaqat Ali (30 years old) hailed from District Kurram.
  • Lance Naik Muhammad Ishaq (31 years old) was from District Karak.
  • Havaldar Ayub Khan (38 years old) belonged to District Attock.
  • Havaldar Umar Hayat (40 years old) was a resident of District Kohat.
  • Sepoy Mehboob Rehman (26 years old) came from District Tank.
  • Havaldar Muhammad Hayat (37 years old) was from District Bannu.
  • Lance Naik Sher Muhammad (26 years old) hailed from District Malakand.
  • Sepoy Ehsan-ul-Haq (22 years old) belonged to District Lower Dir.
  • Sepoy Junaid (25 years old) was a resident of District Khyber.
  • Sepoy Faiz Muhammad (22 years old) hailed from District Mansehra.
  • Sepoy Tayyab Ali (23 years old) belonged to District Haripur.
  • Sepoy Junaid (26 years old) was from District Shangla.

The ISPR emphasized that the Pakistan Army remains resolute in its mission to eradicate terrorism. The spokesperson added, “The sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen our determination to eliminate all threats to peace.”
