
Small Plane Crash in Brazil Kills 10, Injures Dozens on the Ground

A tragic accident unfolded on Sunday morning when a small plane crashed into the southern Brazilian city of Gramado, killing all 10 people aboard and injuring at least 17 others on the ground.
The plane, which had just taken off, collided with the chimney of a building moments after leaving the runway. It then struck a residence before crashing into a furniture store. Debris also damaged an inn nearby, as confirmed by Brazil’s National Civil Defense.
The Governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, confirmed the deaths of all 10 passengers, who were reported to be from the same family. Several people on the ground were injured, with at least two in critical condition due to severe burns. Many others were hospitalized for smoke inhalation from the fire caused by the crash.
Video footage from the scene shows heavy flames engulfing part of a building, with scattered debris and a foggy sky. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.
Gramado is a picturesque mountain town known for its tourism, especially during the holiday season when it attracts visitors with numerous Christmas attractions. The crash has shaken the community and local authorities as they continue to investigate the incident.
