Malaysia Immigration Department Warns Tourists About Fake MDAC Websites

The Malaysian Immigration Department has issued a warning to foreign visitors about fraudulent websites linked to the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC), urging caution to safeguard personal data.

A fake website, https://malaysia-arrivalcard.vercel.app, has been identified, the department announced in a statement on its official Facebook page. Tourists are advised to use the official MDAC platform: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main for all related registrations.

Effective January 1, 2024, completing the MDAC online form prior to arrival is mandatory for all foreign travelers.

Exemptions Include:

• Citizens of Singapore
• Holders of diplomatic and official passports
• Permanent residents and long-term pass holders in Malaysia
• Brunei’s General Certificate of Identity (GCI) holders
• Frequent traveler facility users between Malaysia and Brunei
• Thai border pass holders
• Indonesian cross-border pass holders

Part of the Malaysia Visa Liberalisation Plan, the MDAC initiative is aimed at expediting immigration procedures and minimizing wait times at border control points.
