PM Shehbaz Sharif and UAE President Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss key areas of bilateral interest, emphasizing the strengthening of economic, political, and cultural ties between Pakistan and the UAE.

The leaders discussed a range of issues, including economic collaboration, regional stability, climate change, and global partnerships. Prime Minister Sharif lauded the UAE’s leadership and its role as a significant development partner for Pakistan, underlining Pakistan’s readiness to expand cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, trade, infrastructure, and skill development.

President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed the UAE’s interest in working with Pakistan in sectors like mining, agriculture, and minerals, noting the positive direction of Pakistan’s economy under Prime Minister Sharif’s leadership. He acknowledged the progress made in strengthening Pakistan’s economic stability, which opens up new avenues for bilateral investment.

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to enhancing the longstanding partnership between their countries, highlighting the importance of people-to-people connections and mutual prosperity. They also emphasized the need for continued cooperation in addressing regional challenges and promoting peace.

Prime Minister Sharif thanked the UAE for its unwavering support during critical times, particularly in terms of humanitarian aid and development assistance.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif took to X, saying, “Delighted to meet with my dear brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, today in Rahimyar Khan. Reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthen Pak-UAE cooperation and elevate our ties to a mutually beneficial strategic partnership.”
