Pakistan CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Inaugurates Pak-Turk School
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif lauded Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his pivotal role in fostering development across Pakistan, particularly in Punjab, while inaugurating the Pak-Turk Maarif International School and College in Multan. The event was attended by high-ranking officials from both Pakistan and Türkiye, symbolizing the enduring bond between the two nations.
Addressing the ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Erdogan, describing him as a “true brother of Pakistan.” She praised his visionary leadership, which has played a significant role in strengthening the bilateral relationship and fostering unity and prosperity.
She highlighted the Maarif Foundation’s efforts to enhance educational standards, calling it a symbol of cultural and educational exchange between the two nations.
The ceremony featured a warm welcome by students, who greeted the Chief Minister in Turkish, presented bouquets, and performed the national anthems of both countries.
Maryam Nawaz toured the school’s state-of-the-art facilities, including its library and various departments. She commended the Punjab government’s efforts to support initiatives that foster bilateral ties in education and culture, emphasizing the importance of a strong partnership for future generations.
The event also saw the participation of Türkiye’s Minister of Education, Yusuf Tekin, Turkish Ambassador, and Maarif Foundation President Birol Akgün, further underscoring the robust and historic friendship between the two nations.
Earlier during her visit, CM Maryam Nawaz laid the foundation stone of the **Maryam Nawaz Sharif Girls’ Hostel** at the Multan University of Science and Technology. The 119-room facility will feature modern amenities, including a dining hall, gymnasium, and recreational lounge, aimed at providing a supportive environment for female students.
Touring the university’s newly established **Google Classrooms** and digital library, Maryam Nawaz expressed appreciation for the university’s commitment to adopting innovative technologies. She reaffirmed the government’s focus on advancing education, particularly for women, to ensure inclusivity and equal opportunities.
Maryam Nawaz reiterated the Punjab government’s dedication to strengthening educational infrastructure and empowering students through modern facilities. She acknowledged the progress made by the university and assured continued support for initiatives aimed at fostering development and inclusivity in higher education.
