Omani Delegation Explores Academic Partnership with IIUI
A distinguished delegation from Nizwa University, Oman, led by Dr. Waleed Khalid Hilal Al-Rajhi, Dean of Planning and Quality Management, and Dr. Rashid Said Al Abri, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture, visited the **International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI)** to discuss potential academic and research collaborations.
During their meeting with IIUI President Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, the delegation was briefed on the university’s academic growth, international rankings, and multidisciplinary programs across its 11 faculties and 40+ departments. The president highlighted the institution’s global engagement, hosting students from 44 countries and over 60 foreign faculty members.
Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed also noted that 153 Omani students had graduated from IIUI in the last five years, showcasing the university’s strong educational ties with Oman. The delegation expressed keen interest in the Centre for Advanced Electronics and Photovoltaic Engineering (CAEPE), where they were introduced to its groundbreaking research, patents, and technological innovations.
The visit concluded with both institutions expressing a shared commitment to expanding research collaborations, academic exchanges, and scientific initiatives between IIUI and Nizwa University.
