Pakistan, Morocco Vow to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Moroccan Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday, where they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Morocco.

Morocco’s Support in Rescuing Pakistani Nationals

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to King Muhammad VI and the Moroccan government for their assistance in rescuing Pakistani nationals stranded after the recent boat capsizing off the coast of Dakhla. He acknowledged the cooperation of Moroccan authorities in facilitating the repatriation of survivors and the remains of the deceased.

Enhancing Trade & People-to-People Ties

While highlighting the historic and brotherly relations between the two nations, PM Shehbaz emphasized the need to boost trade and investment ties. He also stressed the importance of enhancing people-to-people exchanges to further strengthen mutual goodwill.

Morocco’s Commitment to Deeper Cooperation

Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune reaffirmed Morocco’s dedication to strengthening collaboration with Pakistan across various sectors. He assured PM Shehbaz of his commitment to working closely with Pakistani authorities to explore new avenues of mutual interest.

Upcoming Bilateral Engagements

Both sides are actively working to convene institutional consultative meetings, including Bilateral Political Consultations, at the earliest opportunity to deepen diplomatic and economic cooperation.

The meeting reaffirmed Pakistan and Morocco’s shared commitment to strengthening ties in trade, diplomacy, and humanitarian cooperation.
