Pakistan, Japan Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Japanese Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday, where they discussed ways to further enhance bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan.
Longstanding Friendship & Economic Cooperation
The Prime Minister highlighted the friendly ties between Pakistan and Japan, emphasizing the mutual goodwill that exists between the people of both nations. He acknowledged Japan’s valuable contributions to Pakistan’s economic and industrial development, expressing Pakistan’s eagerness to expand trade and investment collaboration with Japan.
Japan’s Commitment to Pakistan’s Development
Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s development goals and strengthening cooperation in various sectors. He noted that Japan had recently celebrated 70 years of Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) to Pakistan and expressed Japan’s willingness to continue its partnership in fostering Pakistan’s economic growth.
Future Prospects of Collaboration
Both sides emphasized the importance of sustained economic engagement and agreed to explore new avenues of cooperation in trade, investment, and development assistance.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong diplomatic and economic ties between Pakistan and Japan, with both nations committed to deepening their partnership for mutual prosperity.
