The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, has emphasized the need to enhance trade and investment cooperation to further strengthen the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. He highlighted that the leadership of both nations is committed to expanding trade partnerships and is actively working to strengthen economic ties at various levels.
During a meeting with Zafar Bakhtawari, Secretary General of the United Business Group (UBG), Ambassador Farhadov stressed the importance of joint ventures in key sectors such as energy, textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, IT, and construction. Also present were former President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Ahsan Bakhtawari, and Executive Member of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Waqar Bakhtawari.
Ambassador Farhadov noted that Pakistan currently exports rice, textiles, sports goods, surgical instruments, pharmaceuticals, and IT services to Azerbaijan, while Azerbaijan offers investment opportunities in energy, petrochemicals, tourism, and construction. He urged Pakistani traders and entrepreneurs to explore investment prospects in Azerbaijan, assuring them that the Azerbaijani government provides all possible facilities to investors.
Zafar Bakhtawari told Pakistani products are increasingly in demand in Azerbaijan. He called for more trade delegations and joint exhibitions to connect business communities from both countries. Additionally, he proposed the formation of joint trade forums to facilitate direct communication between Pakistani and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs.
Ahsan Bakhtawari reaffirmed the Pakistani business community’s commitment to strengthening trade relations with Azerbaijan, while Waqar Bakhtawari expressed optimism about the continued economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. He highlighted that the Pakistan-Azerbaijan friendship extends beyond diplomacy into the business sector and called for concrete steps to further enhance bilateral economic ties.
