Pakistan Embassy in Belgium Observes Kashmir Solidarity Day with Special Seminar
The Embassy of Pakistan in Belgium organized a special seminar on Kashmir Solidarity Day to express unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and their ongoing struggle for self-determination.
The event began with the reading of messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister, reaffirming the nation’s steadfast commitment to the Kashmiri cause. These messages condemned human rights violations in IIOJK and emphasized Pakistan’s consistent support for Kashmiris, in line with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
A documentary screening provided attendees with a historical overview of the Kashmir dispute, shedding light on the decades of suffering endured by Kashmiris under Indian occupation.
Speakers at the seminar honored the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, drawing parallels between the Kashmir and Palestine struggles as symbols of resistance against occupation and human rights violations. They strongly denounced India’s unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019, terming them a direct violation of UNSC resolutions and international law.
Chargé d’Affaires Faraz Zaidi, addressing the gathering, reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering diplomatic, moral, and legal support for the Kashmiri people. He emphasized that Pakistan will continue to stand with Kashmiris until their right to self-determination is realized.
Zaidi also praised the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora in Belgium for their tireless efforts in raising global awareness about the Kashmir issue.
The seminar saw active participation from academicians, journalists, Kashmiri representatives, members of the Pakistani diaspora, and other dignitaries, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for the rights of Kashmiris.
In addition, the Embassy hosted a week-long pictorial exhibition, showcasing the ongoing human rights crisis in IIOJK. The exhibition served as a powerful reminder of the urgency of international intervention in the Kashmir issue.
The Pakistan Embassy in Belgium remains committed to amplifying the voices of Kashmiris and advocating for their rights on international platforms.
