Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Reaffirms Support for Kashmiris on Solidarity Day

The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, has reiterated unwavering support for the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir in his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day. He emphasized that February 5 is a historic occasion that symbolizes the unbreakable bond between Pakistan and Kashmir, rooted in religious, cultural, and social harmony.

“This day serves as a powerful reminder to the world that Pakistanis and Kashmiris stand united in their commitment to supporting the oppressed people of Indian-occupied Kashmir in their struggle for freedom,” he stated.

Kashmir’s Historic Connection with Pakistan

The Prime Minister highlighted that Kashmiris had ideologically aligned their future with Pakistan even before its creation in 1947, and this decision remains a source of pride for the Kashmiri people. He praised Pakistan for consistently standing by Kashmiris through every challenge, valuing their sacrifices, and reinforcing diplomatic, political, and moral support at every level.

“We assure our brothers and sisters in occupied Kashmir that we will never abandon them. Their fight for self-determination is our fight, and we will continue to advocate for their rights on every global platform,” he added.

Indian Actions Illegal of August 5, 2019

Condemning India’s unilateral actions, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq recalled that on August 5, 2019, the Hindutva-driven Indian government revoked occupied Kashmir’s special status, violating international laws. He reaffirmed that Kashmiris have outrightly rejected these unlawful moves and continue their resistance despite Indian oppression.

“I pay tribute to the brave men, women, and elderly who are standing firm against India’s state-sponsored brutality. Their courage and sacrifices will not go in vain,” he said.

Indian Atrocities and the Role of the International Community

The Prime Minister strongly condemned India for turning occupied Kashmir into a military garrison, where widespread human rights violations persist. He detailed the systematic oppression faced by Kashmiris, including:

  • Extrajudicial killings
  • Indiscriminate use of pellet guns
  • Enforced disappearances of young men
  • Sexual violence against women
  • Severe human rights violations

He urged the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to take immediate notice of Indian atrocities and hold India accountable for its brutal occupation.

India’s Aggression Threatens Regional Peace

Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq emphasized that Pakistan has always pursued peace, while India has continuously promoted violence and aggression. He warned that India’s extremist policies not only threaten the people of Kashmir but also jeopardize regional stability.

He reaffirmed his commitment to highlighting the Kashmiri freedom struggle at all levels and ensuring that Pakistan leaves no stone unturned in its support.
