Pakistan Showcases Economic Potential at ‘Made in Pakistan’ Exhibition in Jeddah

The first-ever single-country exhibition from Pakistan, titled “Made in Pakistan,” was successfully held in Jeddah, aiming to strengthen trade ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The event served as a key platform to promote business-to-business (B2B) interactions and highlight Pakistan’s diverse industrial capabilities.

Organized at the Jeddah International Exhibition and Conference Centre, the exhibition featured 137 leading Pakistani companies showcasing a wide range of products and services across multiple industries.

Strengthening Bilateral Trade Ties

During the opening session of the three-day event, Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal, described the exhibition as a landmark initiative under Pakistan’s Middle East Reconnect Strategy. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding its economic relations with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of fostering long-term partnerships through economic diplomacy.

“This policy acts as a bridge for economic cooperation, enabling direct B2B engagement and paving the way for strategic commercial alliances,” stated Minister Kamal.

Diverse Industrial Representation

The “Made in Pakistan” exhibition showcased a broad spectrum of products, with a particular focus on sectors such as sports goods, light engineering, textiles, food, construction materials, and services. The event highlighted Pakistan’s manufacturing excellence, particularly in:

  • High-quality textile products
  • Premium basmati rice
  • World-renowned sports equipment
  • Advanced surgical instruments

“Our products symbolize Pakistani craftsmanship, heritage, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence,” Minister Kamal noted.

Investment and Economic Growth Prospects

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia already share a strong economic relationship, yet untapped potential remains in several key areas. With a population of 240 million and rich natural resources, Pakistan presents a prime destination for trade and investment.

Recently, 34 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed between the two governments, covering business activities valued at $2.8 billion. Additionally, ongoing negotiations are underway for investments in energy, mining, agriculture, and human resource development.

Saudi Arabia remains the largest employer of Pakistani expatriates, and upcoming international events, including the World Expo and FIFA World Cup, offer significant opportunities for collaboration in the human resource sector.

The event witnessed the participation of notable Saudi business figures, including:

  • Assistant Minister Ministry of Investment Saudi Arabia. Ibrahim Almubarak,
  • Deputy Governor General of Foreign Trade.  Abdul Aziz Al-Sakran,
  • Chairperson of the Council of Saudi Chambers. Hassan Moejeb Alhwaiz,

Diplomatic Support and Future Outlook

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, warmly welcomed dignitaries, emphasizing the importance of Pakistan-Saudi relations and thanking the Saudi leadership for their support in hosting the “Made in Pakistan” exhibition.

A large number of diplomats, Saudi business executives, and Pakistani industry leaders attended the event, expressing optimism about future economic partnerships.
