Trump Revokes former President Joe Biden’s Access to Intelligence Briefings, Citing Security Concerns
President Donald Trump announced that he is revoking former President Joe Biden’s access to classified information, including his eligibility to receive daily intelligence briefings.
In a Truth Social post, Trump referenced Biden’s 2021 decision to deny him intelligence briefings after leaving office, calling it an unfair precedent. Trump also cited the Hur Report, which described Biden as forgetful and careless with sensitive documents, though it did not result in criminal charges.
“Joe, you’re fired,” Trump wrote, ending his statement with his signature slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
Biden had previously justified blocking Trump’s intelligence briefings by citing concerns over his behavior following the January 6 Capitol attack. Former presidents traditionally receive such briefings as a courtesy and for advisory purposes.
While Trump can legally restrict Biden’s access to intelligence updates, his claim to revoke a security clearance is largely symbolic, as former presidents do not retain clearances unless from prior government roles.
The move marks another escalation in the tense political rivalry between the two leaders, with national security now at the center of their ongoing dispute.
