Saudi Arabia has announced a new visa policy for Pakistani citizens, introducing streamlined application processes and extended stay options. The new policy aims to enhance travel, business, and religious tourism between the two nations.

Key Changes in the New Visa Policy

  1. Simplified Visa Application Process
Saudi authorities have introduced an online e-visa system for Pakistani travelers, reducing processing time and eliminating the need for lengthy paperwork.
  2. Extended Visit Visa Durations
    • Single-entry visit visas will now be valid for six months, up from the previous three-month limit.
    • Multiple-entry visit visas will allow Pakistani travelers to stay for up to one year, benefiting business professionals and frequent visitors.
  3. Easier Umrah and Hajj Visas
    • Umrah pilgrims will now have access to an extended 90-day visa instead of the previous 30-day limit.
    • Special arrangements for Hajj visas will allow for a smoother entry process, reducing bottlenecks during peak travel seasons.
  4. Work and Residency Visa Expansion
    • Saudi Arabia is expanding the issuance of work visas in key sectors, including healthcare, construction, and IT.
    • Pakistani expatriates will have improved pathways to secure residency under the Premium Residency Program, which offers long-term stay options without a sponsor.

Saudi Officials Highlight Strengthened Relations

Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif stated that the new policy reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to deepening ties with Pakistan. “We recognize the significant contributions of the Pakistani community to Saudi Arabia’s development and want to ensure smoother, more accessible travel between our countries,” he said.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani welcomed the policy changes, stating that they would benefit millions of Pakistanis working, studying, or performing religious pilgrimages in the Kingdom.

Economic and Diplomatic Implications

Saudi Arabia hosts over 2.5 million Pakistani expatriates, making them one of the largest foreign communities in the Kingdom. The new visa reforms are expected to boost remittances, trade partnerships, and religious tourism.

Additionally, with Pakistan’s growing workforce and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification plans, the streamlined visa process will encourage skilled professionals and businesses to explore opportunities in the Kingdom.

How to Apply for the New Visa

Pakistani citizens can now apply for the updated visas through:

  • The official Saudi e-visa portal.
  • Designated travel agencies approved by the Saudi Embassy.
  • A newly introduced fast-track visa service for urgent business and family visits.
