Pakistan, Laos Ambassadors Discuss Trade and Bilateral Ties in Beijing

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, met with Laos’ Ambassador to China, Somphone Sichaleune, at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing to discuss strengthening diplomatic and trade relations between their countries.

Boosting Trade and Economic Cooperation

During the meeting, both ambassadors explored new opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and enhancing economic collaboration. Ambassador Sichaleune, who is also accredited to Pakistan, emphasized Laos’ interest in developing stronger trade and investment partnerships with Pakistan.

Ambassador Hashmi took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to highlight the discussion, We explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations and boost two-way trade.”

Pakistan’s Growing Engagement with ASEAN

This meeting aligns with Pakistan’s strategy to deepen its economic and diplomatic ties with ASEAN countries. Strengthening trade with Laos offers Pakistan an opportunity to tap into Southeast Asian markets, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships in trade, investment, and economic growth.

Both sides expressed a commitment to expanding trade channels, encouraging business collaborations, and enhancing diplomatic coordination to create long-term economic opportunities.

This diplomatic engagement marks a significant step toward strengthening Pakistan-Laos relations, with trade playing a key role in future cooperation.
