Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Embark on Official Visit to Uzbekistan on February 25-26, 2025

At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a two-day official visit to Uzbekistan on February 25-26, 2025. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and other key cabinet members.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties Across Multiple Sectors

During the visit, the Pakistani and Uzbek leaders will hold high-level talks covering a wide range of strategic areas, including:
✅ Trade & Investment – Expanding economic cooperation and identifying new business opportunities.
✅ Connectivity – Enhancing regional infrastructure and transport links.
✅ Energy Cooperation – Exploring partnerships in energy and resource-sharing initiatives.
✅ Defence & Security – Strengthening collaboration on security and counter-terrorism.
✅ Education & Cultural Exchange – Promoting people-to-people ties and academic collaborations.
✅ Regional Stability – Discussing shared interests in maintaining peace and stability in Central and South Asia.

The visit is expected to result in the signing of multiple bilateral agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), further solidifying diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.

Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum to Boost Trade Relations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also address the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum, where leading businessmen from both countries will engage in B2B meetings. The forum aims to explore new avenues for trade and investment, ensuring stronger economic collaboration between the two economies.

A Historic Partnership Rooted in Shared Heritage

Pakistan and Uzbekistan share deep-rooted historical, cultural, and religious ties, along with a mutual vision for peace and economic development. The Prime Minister’s visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to fostering regional integration, expanding economic partnerships, and strengthening diplomatic ties with Uzbekistan.
