Uzbekistan and Pakistan Strengthen Defense Ties: Deputy Defence Minister Meets CJCSC

Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Defence and Commander of the Air Defence Forces and Air Force, Major General Burkhanov Akhmad Jamalovich, met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, at the Rawalpindi Headquarters.

The high-level meeting focused on enhancing military cooperation, discussing regional security dynamics, and exploring avenues for strategic defense collaboration.

During the discussions, both sides expressed a mutual commitment to strengthening military-to-military ties. Topics included joint military training programs, defense technology exchanges, and coordinated efforts in counterterrorism and regional stability.

Major General Burkhanov Akhmad Jamalovich commended the professionalism and operational excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions to global counterterrorism efforts and its role in ensuring regional peace and security.

Upon arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, the Uzbek delegation was welcomed with a Guard of Honour by a tri-services contingent, highlighting the significance of Pakistan-Uzbekistan defense relations.

This visit marks another step in deepening the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, fostering closer defense and security collaboration for a stable and secure region.
