Microsoft Restores Majority of Outlook Services Following Outage

Report by Furqan Mughal

Microsoft has successfully restored most of its Outlook services following a global outage that left users unable to access their emails and Microsoft 365 applications.

The disruption began on Saturday evening, with thousands of users reporting issues around 8:40 PM GMT, according to Down detector, a website that tracks service outages.

Microsoft promptly acknowledged the issue and launched an investigation. By 10 PM, the company had identified a possible cause and began implementing corrective measures.

“Our telemetry indicates that a majority of impacted services are recovering following our change. We’ll continue monitoring until full resolution,” Microsoft stated on X (formerly Twitter).

While most services have been restored, Microsoft has yet to disclose the exact reason for the outage. This incident follows a previous disruption in November 2024, which affected Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 applications.

Microsoft assures users that it is closely monitoring performance and taking necessary steps to prevent future disruptions.
