President Trump Warns Zelenskyy Over War Stalemate: ‘Won’t Put Up With It’

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signaling frustration over what he perceives as resistance to diplomatic efforts in the ongoing war with Russia.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday, President Trump stated, “We’ve given Ukraine tremendous support, more than anyone else, but at some point, they need to be serious about ending this war. We’re not going to put up with delays or unnecessary resistance.”

His comments come in response to Zelenskyy’s recent remarks, where the Ukrainian leader admitted that the war’s end remains “very, very far away.” The statement has fueled concerns in Washington about the prolonged nature of the conflict, with some in the Trump administration questioning Kyiv’s willingness to engage in peace talks.

President Trump has previously called for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, arguing that a diplomatic resolution is necessary to prevent further escalation and reduce the strain on U.S. financial and military resources. However, Zelenskyy has maintained that Ukraine will not agree to any peace settlement that compromises its sovereignty.

The Trump administration has hinted at reassessing U.S. aid to Ukraine if there is no clear roadmap toward de-escalation. A senior White House official noted, “The president is focused on America first. If Ukraine refuses to take meaningful steps toward peace, we have to reconsider our level of involvement.”

While the U.S. remains a key ally of Ukraine, Trump’s stance marks a potential shift in U.S. foreign policy, placing greater pressure on Kyiv to explore diplomatic solutions. Meanwhile, European leaders are urging continued Western support for Ukraine, fearing that any reduction in assistance could embolden Russia.

With the 2024 election behind him, Trump’s approach to the war in Ukraine is expected to prioritize U.S. strategic interests, potentially reshaping the dynamics of the conflict.
