North Korea Vows Retaliation Over U.S. Aircraft Carrier Deployment in South Korea
North Korea has issued a strong warning against the recent deployment of the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson in South Korea, calling it a direct threat to its national security. Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, condemned the move, stating that Pyongyang would consider strategic countermeasures in response to what she described as escalating military provocations by the U.S. and its allies.

In an official statement released by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim Yo Jong asserted that the United States is fueling tensions on the Korean Peninsula with its “reckless military actions.” She warned that North Korea would take “strong and decisive steps” to safeguard its sovereignty.
“The U.S. and its followers are engaging in confrontation hysteria, disregarding the security concerns of the DPRK. This deployment signals their hostile intent, and we will respond accordingly,” Kim Yo Jong declared, referring to North Korea by its official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
