Palestinian Embassy Honors Young Pakistani Siblings for Advocacy on Gaza
Report by Syed Farzand Ali
The Palestinian Embassy in Pakistan hosted a special ceremony to honor two young Pakistani siblings, Ubaydah Al Fiddhah Hafiah (11) and Ghulam Bishar Hafi (13), for their dedicated advocacy in support of the children of Gaza.
During the event, Palestinian Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Zaid expressed deep appreciation for the siblings’ unwavering commitment to raising awareness about the plight of Palestinian children. He commended their efforts, describing them as a symbol of humanity and justice.
“I am overwhelmed by the depth of your compassion and courage,” said Dr. Zaid. “Your advocacy is a powerful reminder that humanity is still alive in its purest form.”
The siblings gained international recognition for their unique protest campaign, which included writing letters and petitions in their own blood to highlight the suffering of Gazan children. Their activism, launched on June 4, 2024, coincided with the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. Their blood-written appeals were submitted to international bodies, including the United Nations, urging action for the protection of Palestinian children.
Recognizing their profound dedication, Dr. Zaid made an emotional declaration, stating that from this day forward, Ubaydah and Ghulam Bishar would be regarded as his own children, alongside his five biological children. He emphasized that their message would continue to resonate worldwide, inspiring millions.
The ceremony also highlighted the urgent need for international intervention to support Palestinian children affected by ongoing violence. Dr. Zaid discussed with the siblings’ father, Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb Hafi, potential measures to resettle and rehabilitate orphaned and amputee children from Gaza.
The siblings recently revived their ‘Voice for the Voiceless’ campaign, focusing on securing medical and humanitarian aid for Palestinian children who have suffered severe injuries. Their activism continues to garner global attention, reinforcing the message that even the youngest voices can drive meaningful change in the pursuit of justice and human rights.
Their efforts have received official recognition from Palestinian authorities, ranking among the most impactful advocacy initiatives in recent years. The event concluded with a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, further strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
