President Gilani Seeks Stronger Pakistan-Czech Republic Ties in Trade, Energy, and Education

President Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with the Czech Republic across multiple sectors, including trade, renewable energy, business, health, and education.
During a meeting with Czech Ambassador Ladislav Steinhubel at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Gilani emphasized the importance of enhancing economic collaboration and people-to-people exchanges. He urged Czech businesses to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan and called for increased bilateral trade to unlock its full potential.
The president also highlighted the need to simplify visa procedures for Pakistani students aspiring to study in Czech universities, fostering stronger educational ties. He expressed appreciation for the Czech Republic’s support of Pakistan’s bid for a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council for 2025-26.
Ambassador Steinhubel reiterated his country’s interest in expanding cooperation in trade, health, and energy sectors. He also discussed the possibility of importing Pakistani mangoes to the Czech Republic and announced that the Czech Prime Minister would visit Islamabad in May 2025.
President Gilani welcomed the upcoming visit, expressing confidence that it would further solidify bilateral relations. The ambassador also conveyed condolences over the recent Jaffar Express terrorist attack, extending his sympathies to the victims’ families.
