Turkish cyclist Burak Ozturk has set off on an extraordinary 6,000-kilometer journey from Stuttgart, Germany, to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to perform Hajj in 2025. The 26-year-old aims to reach the holy city before the pilgrimage begins in June, traveling across ten countries on his spiritual quest.

Ozturk’s route spans Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Greece, Türkiye, Syria, and Jordan before reaching Saudi Arabia. He has meticulously planned his journey, securing necessary visas and permits for safe passage.

The cyclist is documenting his adventure on social media, sharing insights into the diverse cultures and landscapes he encounters. Originally planned two years ago, his trip was postponed due to family commitments, but his determination remains unwavering.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has opened registration for this year’s pilgrimage. In 2024, approximately 1.8 million Muslims performed Hajj, including 1.6 million international pilgrims.
