Ceasefire Collapses as Israel Pounds Gaza, Leaving 404 Martyr

A fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas shattered as Israeli forces launched a series of devastating airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, Martyr at least 404 people and injuring 562 others, according to Palestinian health officials.

The overnight bombardment targeted civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings and hospitals, also suffered extensive damage. Among the dead are several senior Hamas officials, though their names have not yet been officially confirmed.

Emergency responders report that entire families have been wiped out, and hospitals are overwhelmed with the wounded, many of them women and children. Local authorities warn that the death toll is expected to rise as rescue efforts continue.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the strikes were aimed at eliminating key Hamas operatives and military assets, accusing the group of using civilian areas as cover for their operations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue the offensive, saying,
“Hamas will pay a heavy price for its attacks on Israeli civilians. Our military will ensure the safety of our people by dismantling the terror infrastructure in Gaza.”

In response, Hamas launched rocket barrages toward Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Ashkelon. Israel’s Iron Dome defense system intercepted many of the projectiles, but reports indicate some damage and casualties on the Israeli side.

The violence has also triggered protests across the Middle East, with world leaders calling for restraint and urgent diplomatic intervention. The United Nations, European Union, and United States have urged both parties to resume negotiations to prevent further escalation.

With Gaza’s hospitals overwhelmed and supplies running low, aid organizations warn of a deepening humanitarian catastrophe. The UN has called for safe corridors to deliver urgent medical aid and evacuate the injured.

As the situation deteriorates, global pressure is mounting on both sides to return to ceasefire negotiations. However, with tensions at an all-time high, a swift resolution remains uncertain.
