Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Pledge to Elevate Strategic Partnership, Strengthen Defense Ties
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties, with a focus on defense, security, trade, and economic collaboration. The renewed partnership was emphasized during a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah on Thursday.
The discussions took place as part of Shahbaz Sharif’s four-day official visit to the Kingdom. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz accompanied the prime minister.
During the meeting, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the growing economic collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They highlighted Saudi investment in Pakistan’s key sectors, emphasizing its role in strengthening Pakistan’s economic stability.
Defense and security cooperation were central to the discussions, with both sides recognizing the importance of collaborative efforts to tackle regional security challenges. Military and intelligence cooperation between the two nations is expected to be further strengthened.
The evolving geopolitical landscape and regional security dynamics were key topics during the talks. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia agreed to work closely on regional peace and stability, reaffirming their shared vision of mutual prosperity and diplomatic coordination.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Pakistani expatriate community in Saudi Arabia. Both leaders agreed on measures to improve labor rights, visa facilitation, and welfare programs for Pakistanis residing in the Kingdom.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia also committed to enhancing people-to-people ties, expanding cultural exchanges, and boosting educational collaborations.
The meeting concluded with both leaders reaffirming their determination to elevate Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations to new strategic heights, based on mutual respect, shared interests, and a common vision for regional peace and prosperity.
