Iranian Envoy Calls for Global Solidarity on International Quds Day

Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, has called for international unity in support of Palestine, urging the global community to take a stand against occupation and oppression.

Speaking at an Iftar dinner held in connection with International Quds Day, observed annually on the last Friday of Ramadan, Dr. Moghaddam emphasized that the event serves as a symbol of Muslim unity and global resistance against injustice.

“International Quds Day, introduced in 1979 by Imam Khomeini (RA), continues to highlight the struggle of Palestinians for self-determination,” he stated.

The Iranian envoy strongly condemned the continued military aggression in Gaza, attributing the humanitarian crisis to what he termed as the Zionist regime’s actions, backed by certain global powers.

“In the past 18 months, relentless attacks have claimed the lives of over 55,000 innocent men, women, and children while displacing thousands more,” he lamented.

Dr. Moghaddam also dismissed recent prisoner exchanges as mere distractions, asserting that the Palestinian resistance remains strong despite ongoing hardships.

He praised Pakistan’s unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue, acknowledging the government and people of Pakistan for their continuous advocacy for Palestinian rights.

“Pakistan’s principled position serves as a beacon of hope for justice, inspiring others to stand in solidarity with Palestine,” he remarked.

The envoy reaffirmed Iran’s position on the need for a sovereign Palestinian state, established through free and fair elections with full participation of indigenous Palestinians.

“International Quds Day is more than a commemoration—it is a global movement demanding an end to occupation, mass killings, and discrimination,” he asserted, urging nations worldwide to support the cause.

Dr. Moghaddam called upon Muslim nations and human rights defenders across the world to actively participate in International Quds Day to amplify the demand for justice and a lasting resolution to the Palestinian crisis.
