Hamas Warns Israeli Airstrikes Endangering Captives’ Lives
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has warned that Israeli airstrikes are putting the lives of Israeli captives at risk, holding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for the failure of a ceasefire agreement.
In an official statement, Hamas accused Netanyahu of deliberately sabotaging the ceasefire deal and succumbing to the political pressure of Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. The group claimed that Netanyahu’s actions were a calculated decision to resume war instead of pursuing negotiations.
Hamas emphasized that the responsibility for the collapse of the ceasefire agreement lies with Netanyahu and urged the international community and mediators to intervene and push for a resumption of peace talks.
The statement also reaffirmed Hamas’ commitment to protecting Israeli captives, but warned that the indiscriminate Israeli bombings pose a serious threat to their lives.
Additionally, Hamas accused Netanyahu of misleading the families of Israeli captives, stating that a military operation will not bring them back alive. The group cited past Israeli attempts to retrieve prisoners by force, claiming they only resulted in their return in coffins.
