Pakistani PM Visits Myanmar Embassy, Offers Condolences Over Earthquake Tragedy
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited the Embassy of Myanmar in Islamabad on Friday to express solidarity and offer heartfelt condolences following the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28.
During his visit, the prime minister signed the condolence book set up by the embassy, extending sympathies on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan over the tragic loss of lives and extensive damage caused by the natural disaster.
Prime Minister Shahbaz was received by Myanmar’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Wunna Han, who thanked the premier for his personal visit and Pakistan’s timely provision of relief supplies for those affected by the earthquake.
Speaking at the embassy, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Myanmar during this challenging time. He praised their resilience and strength in the face of adversity and conveyed hopes for a swift recovery and successful reconstruction.
“In this hour of grief, Pakistan stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Myanmar,” Shahbaz Sharif stated, adding that friendship and compassion will continue to define the two nations’ relationship in times of hardship.
Ambassador Wunna Han expressed gratitude for the support extended by Pakistan and conveyed warm regards and well-wishes from Myanmar’s leadership to the prime minister and the people of Pakistan.
