Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s Official Visit to Belarus: Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Cooperation
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has begun a two-day official visit to Belarus from April 10 to April 11, 2025. The visit, which is taking place at the invitation of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, aims to further strengthen the diplomatic and economic ties between Pakistan and Belarus.
During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to engage in talks with President Lukashenko to review progress in areas of mutual interest. The discussions are expected to cover a range of key sectors, such as trade, defense, investment, and technological cooperation. Both leaders are anticipated to sign several agreements that will reinforce the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The visit is part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to diversify its foreign relations and forge stronger alliances with Eastern European nations. By strengthening ties with Belarus, Pakistan seeks to explore new opportunities for economic growth, technology exchange, and defense collaboration.
On April 11, Belarusian President Lukashenko will hold direct talks with Prime Minister Sharif at the Palace of Independence. These talks will focus on building upon agreements made during President Lukashenko’s official visit to Pakistan in November 2024. Special emphasis will be placed on advancing trade and economic cooperation, particularly in sectors like manufacturing, food security, and enhancing humanitarian ties.
Additionally, both sides will address key global and regional issues, as well as discuss their collaborative efforts within international organizations.
The visit highlights Pakistan’s continued commitment to expanding its global footprint and fostering strategic partnerships to advance mutual interests.
