PM Shehbaz Announce Major Incentive Package for Overseas Pakistani

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a transformative incentive package aimed at supporting and empowering overseas Pakistanis. The package includes job and education quotas, legal reforms, tax reliefs, and civil awards for expatriates contributing to national development.

Speaking at the inaugural Overseas Pakistanis Convention 2025 in Islamabad, attended by more than 1,200 participants from around the world, the Prime Minister acknowledged the vital role played by over 10 million Pakistani expatriates, referring to them as “the pride of the nation.

Legal Reforms for Swift Justice

To address legal challenges faced by expatriates, PM Shehbaz announced the expansion of special courts for overseas Pakistanis, starting from Islamabad and soon to be extended to all provinces. These courts aim to deliver quick verdicts on property and civil disputes.

Furthermore, e-recording and e-filing systems will be introduced, enabling overseas citizens to submit evidence remotely through video links. He directed NADRA to implement the system within 60 days and promised legislation to eliminate fake lawsuits against expatriates.

Education and Employment Quotas

The Prime Minister declared new quotas for children of overseas Pakistanis 5% in all chartered universities, 5% in federal capital degree-awarding institutions and 15% in medical colleges nationwide

In addition, the government has approved age relaxation in job applications — five years for men and seven years for women seeking public sector jobs in Pakistan.

Economic Incentives and Skill Development

PM Shehbaz revealed that overseas Pakistanis will now be classified as active tax filers, giving them relief in banking and financial transactions. Moreover, NAVTTC will roll out 5,000 specialized skill development programs for the children of expatriates.

Civil Awards & Recognition

Outstanding overseas Pakistanis will now be honored annually with civil awards on August 14, based on remittance contributions recorded by the State Bank of Pakistan. Nominations will be submitted by Pakistani embassies and the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF).

He also announced the revival of the Green Channel at all airports within a week, easing customs processes for returning overseas Pakistanis.
