Kazakhstan’s Top Leadership Visits Muslim World League in Makkah, Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement
The Muslim World League (MWL) welcomed a senior-level delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan at its global headquarters in the holy city of Makkah, underscoring the growing international momentum for Islamic unity and interreligious dialogue.
The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Mäulen Äşimbaev, Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Senate, and Sheikh Nauryzbay Kazhy Taganuly, the country’s Grand Mufti. Their visit marked a new milestone in Kazakhstan’s engagement with key Islamic institutions and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to promoting peace and religious cooperation.
During the meeting, both Kazakh leaders applauded the Muslim World League for its continued leadership in serving the global Muslim community and defending the rights of Muslim minorities. They expressed particular appreciation for the Charter of Makkah and the Charter for Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought, two MWL-led initiatives that promote a unified Islamic message rooted in moderation, respect, and solidarity.
This agreement is expected to enhance collaborative programs in theological research, training for religious leaders, and youth engagement—areas crucial to building mutual respect and sustainable peace among diverse communities.
