Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz announced on Tuesday that Israel will restart humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza but will channel them exclusively through civilian companies to prevent Hamas from seizing the supplies.

Katz emphasized that the renewed aid effort is aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis while ensuring that assistance does not fall into the hands of what he described as a “terrorist organization.” Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by Israel, the United States, the European Union, and several other countries.

“This mechanism is designed to deliver food, water, and medicine directly to civilians without empowering Hamas,” Katz stated. “We will ensure full oversight through vetted private-sector partners and international supervision.”

The move follows growing international pressure on Israel to ease restrictions on humanitarian relief, especially as conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate due to prolonged conflict and infrastructure collapse.

According to Israeli officials, the new delivery system will involve joint coordination with global NGOs and monitoring bodies to track aid distribution and prevent diversion for militant use.

The United Nations and key Western governments have welcomed the announcement, urging transparent implementation to maximize civilian impact while maintaining regional security.

Israel’s revised strategy seeks to strike a balance between addressing urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza and maintaining a strict security posture amid ongoing hostilities.
