Seven Arrested Outside Adiala Jail Including Imran Khan’s Sisters
Report by Muhammad Furqan
Police in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have arrested seven individuals, including all three sisters of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, outside Adiala Jail.
According to credible sources, Aleema Khanum, Noreen Khan, and Uzma Khanum were taken into custody and transported in a prison van under tight security. Alongside them, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Omar Ayub, Malik Ahmed Bhachar, and Qasim Niazi were also arrested.
Police officials confirmed that arrest warrants were shown to all individuals before being detained. A brief confrontation took place between the detainees and the police as they resisted the arrest. Following the altercation, all seven were moved to a nearby police station for further legal processing.
However, Zartaj Gul, Seemabia Tahir, and Tabish Farooq, who were also present at the site, were not arrested. The situation escalated when a large number of PTI supporters began chanting slogans, causing tension around the jail premises.
The arrests come amid ongoing protests and political mobilization by PTI leaders and supporters demanding the release of Imran Khan. The presence of his family and political allies at the jail has become a symbol of resistance, prompting increased law enforcement action.
