Report By Safarti Tarjuman International Desk
The United Nations International Tourism Summit will take place in Tehran, marking a major event for the Iranian capital this summer. The summit, dedicated to discussing urban tourism and sustainable travel, is scheduled for June 24-25, 2025. This announcement was confirmed by Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani following a significant decision made during a session held in Jakarta.
Set to take place at the prominent Abbas Abad Hills Cultural and Tourism Center, the summit will provide a platform for global experts to explore the potential of urban tourism while showcasing Tehran’s rich cultural heritage and modern tourism infrastructure.
Mayor Zakani expressed pride in the city’s selection as the venue for such a high-profile event. He highlighted that the summit would allow Tehran to highlight its tourism attractions and strengthen international collaboration in the tourism sector, which has seen significant growth in recent years. He also emphasized that the conference would create new opportunities for foreign investments and the development of Tehran’s tourism facilities.
“This summit will enable Tehran to share its tourism success stories and explore innovative solutions for promoting sustainable tourism in cities around the world,” Zakani added.
