Ishaq Dar in Kabul: Afghanistan Will Not Allow Its Soil to Be Used for Hostile Activities
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar affirmed during his official visit to Kabul that Afghanistan is committed to preventing the use of its territory for any malicious activities against other nations.
Addressing a press conference in the Afghan capital, Dar emphasized mutual cooperation, stating that Pakistan and Afghanistan had productive discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and addressing regional challenges through dialogue.
“We have agreed that no one will be allowed to misuse Afghan soil for wrongful acts,” Dar said. “Similarly, Pakistan will not permit its land to be used against Afghanistan.”
The high-level meeting included talks on implementing a Track and Trace System to accelerate the movement of Afghan transit goods. Dar highlighted the long-standing Afghan proposal for an insurance guarantee on such cargo, suggesting both sides had made progress in overcoming logistical challenges.
He announced that the IT system at Torkham border will be activated soon, which will streamline customs and trade processes. Dar stressed the urgency of expanding trade relations and ensuring smooth exchange of commercial delegations between the two countries.
Discussing the issue of Afghan refugees, Dar noted that four key principles had been agreed upon during talks with the acting Afghan Foreign Minister. These include the dignified and respectful repatriation of Afghan nationals and cooperation for long-term regional stability.
“We will continue to support efforts that promote peace, progress, and mutual development in the region,” he added. Dar also appreciated the generosity of Afghan hosts and confirmed that Afghan citizens would be allowed to reclaim their personal assets during the repatriation process.
