Turkish Ambassador Meets Defence Production Minister, Vows to Expand Strategic Partnership
Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, met with Federal Minister for Defence Production, Muhammad Raza Hayat Harraj, in Rawalpindi on Thursday to strengthen bilateral defence ties and explore new avenues of cooperation.
According to an official press release, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, expressing satisfaction over the strong and enduring brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye.
Focus on Defence Industry Collaboration
The Federal Minister commended the existing defence cooperation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral collaboration across all sectors, particularly in defence production and emerging technologies.
“We greatly value our strategic partnership with Turkiye and are eager to broaden our joint efforts, especially in defence innovation,” said Minister Harraj.
Both sides underscored the need for joint ventures in advanced technologies, encouraging greater involvement from private sector companies to drive innovation and shared progress.
Acknowledgment of Turkish Defence Advancements
Minister Harraj praised the remarkable growth of the Turkish Defence Industry, highlighting its achievements in modernization, innovation, and self-reliance. He also acknowledged the high standards of Pakistan’s own defence production capabilities, positioning both countries as reliable partners in the global defence market.
“Turkiye’s continued support in enhancing and upgrading our defence systems is deeply appreciated,” the minister added.
Strategic Cooperation as a Cornerstone of Relations
Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of defence industrial and technical cooperation as a fundamental pillar of the Pakistan-Turkiye strategic relationship.
The meeting concluded with mutual agreement to further intensify collaborative efforts and explore new areas for defence partnership and technology transfer.
