PM India Grants Forces ‘Full Operational Freedom’ After Deadly J&K Attack
Report By Safarti Tarjuman International Desk
In the wake of the recent deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has granted security forces “full operational freedom” to respond decisively, according to high-level government sources.
The decision was made during a high-priority internal security review held late Monday night. The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, comes just one day ahead of a scheduled session of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) — the country’s top policy-making body on national defense and strategic matters. This will be the second CCS meeting in less than a week, reflecting the urgency and gravity of the situation.
Top intelligence and military officials were present at the closed-door meeting, where the Prime Minister emphasized the need for a swift, precise, and strong response to deter further aggression and restore stability in the region.
Sources said the directive gives the Indian Army and paramilitary forces “complete freedom of action” in operational planning and execution against the perpetrators and their support networks.
The recent terror strike, which claimed multiple lives, has drawn sharp national outrage and international condemnation. Investigations are underway, and early leads suggest cross-border involvement, a senior security official stated.
Heightened security measures have since been implemented across sensitive zones in Jammu and Kashmir, with surveillance and combing operations intensified along the Line of Control (LoC) and known infiltration routes.
The Cabinet Committee on Security is expected to outline a more comprehensive security roadmap following tomorrow’s meeting.
