Pakistan Warns of Stern Response if India Initiates Hostilities: F.M Ishaq Dar

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday declared that Pakistan will not initiate any military action against India. However, he warned that any Indian aggression would be met with a strong and decisive response.

Speaking at a joint press conference alongside the Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Dar addressed growing regional tensions in the wake of the Pahalgam incident.

Pakistan Condemns Civilian Killings

Dar began by condemning the killing of innocent civilians in Pahalgam, stating that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the victims and their families.

“Pakistan strongly denounces all acts of terrorism, and the killing of innocent civilians is unacceptable under any circumstance,” said Dar.

He accused India of displaying an irresponsible attitude in the aftermath of the attack and of exploiting the tragedy for political gain.

India’s Response Raises Serious Questions

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry criticized India’s swift attribution of blame to Pakistan, noting that an FIR was registered within just ten minutes of the incident—an unusual and suspicious development.

“The rapid filing of the FIR and the use of terms like ‘handler’ indicate a pre-scripted narrative,” said the DG ISPR.
“The incident occurred 230 kilometers away from the Line of Control. How could Pakistan have been involved so swiftly and precisely?”

He also pointed out that certain social media accounts pushing the Indian narrative had previously been involved in disinformation campaigns against Pakistan.

Kashmir Under Oppression, Water a Red Line

Foreign Minister Dar also highlighted India’s ongoing human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir. He accused the Indian government of trying to suppress the region’s freedom movement by labeling it as terrorism.

He further warned that any Indian move to block or divert Pakistan’s water supply would be interpreted as an act of war.

“Water is the lifeline of our people. Tampering with it will trigger a serious response,” he cautioned.

Dar stated that Pakistan remains in communication with global partners to ensure regional peace and to expose India’s destabilizing actions.

Political Motives Behind Allegations

The officials suggested that India is using the Pahalgam incident to divert attention from its internal failures and to influence its upcoming elections.

“Blaming Pakistan has become a convenient tool for Indian leadership to achieve political mileage,” said Dar.
