Trump Unveils $200 Billion in US-UAE Deals, Including $14.5 Billion Boeing-Etihad Partnership
Report by Safarti Tarjuman International Desk
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced over $200 billion worth of new business agreements between the United States and the United Arab Emirates, highlighting a major $14.5 billion deal involving Boeing, GE Aerospace, and Etihad Airways. The announcement came during Trump’s multi-day diplomatic and trade-focused visit to the Middle East.
According to an official statement, Etihad Airways has committed to purchasing 28 U.S.-built Boeing 787 and 777X aircraft, which will be powered by GE Aerospace engines. The agreement is positioned as a cornerstone in strengthening commercial aviation cooperation and expanding American manufacturing exports to the Gulf region.
“This investment further deepens the aviation partnership between the U.S. and UAE, supports U.S. manufacturing, and stimulates export-driven growth,” the White House said.
Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves recently confirmed the airline’s plan to significantly expand its fleet this year. The carrier, which currently operates around 100 aircraft, is expected to grow to over 170 by the year 2030. As part of this year’s expansion, Etihad will introduce 10 Airbus A321LRs beginning in August, along with six Airbus A350s and four Boeing 787s.
Owned by Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund ADQ, valued at approximately $225 billion, Etihad Airways has undergone major restructuring in recent years. Under Neves’ leadership, the airline has shifted toward a strategy focused on sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
This new U.S.-UAE business milestone follows another major Boeing success earlier this week—a record-breaking $96 billion wide-body aircraft order from Qatar, making it the largest such deal in Boeing’s history.
