The High Commission of Pakistan in Singapore actively participated in the second edition of the Asian Village Festival 2025, showcasing the country’s vibrant cultural heritage and tourism potential. The festival is taking place in Singapore from May 16 to 18 and celebrates the rich traditions of Asian nations.

The festival was formally inaugurated by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Rabia Shafiq, along with ambassadors from other Asian countries. Pakistan’s pavilion emerged as a cultural hotspot, drawing crowds with its vibrant displays and welcoming atmosphere.

Visitors were introduced to Pakistan’s premium exports, including aromatic Basmati rice and authentic spices, which received widespread admiration. The pavilion also featured books and publications offering insights into Pakistan’s rich history, vibrant culture, and scenic travel destinations.

A promotional video was played during the opening ceremony, offering a visual tour of Pakistan’s scenic landscapes—from the snow-capped mountains of the north to the historic and coastal attractions of the south. The video captivated the audience and emphasized Pakistan’s tourism appeal.

Diplomats, dignitaries, and visitors from around the world toured the Pakistan booth, where they engaged with High Commissioner Rabia Shafiq and her team, gaining insights into the country’s growing tourism sector and cultural richness.

The festival atmosphere was further elevated by colorful cultural performances, including traditional peacock and dragon dances. These displays added a dynamic flair to the event and celebrated Asia’s shared artistic heritage.

In her address, High Commissioner Rabia Shafiq thanked the organizers for hosting the event and emphasized the importance of cultural platforms in enhancing people-to-people ties. She noted that such events play a key role in promoting Pakistan’s soft image, encouraging tourism, and fostering global cultural understanding.

Pakistan’s participation in the Asian Village Festival 2025 demonstrated its commitment to cultural diplomacy and its growing role in regional and international engagement.
